THE CONSTITUTE

The Constitute is a design and research studio based in Berlin and run by Christian Zöllner and Sebastian Piatza. By combining artistic and scientific practices they create interactive experiences for the public space.

Founded in early 2012, arose from the VR/urban media art collective, The Constitute worked with several international cultural Institutions and exhibited their works worldwide. Currently the focus is on the investigation of narrative and diegetic prototypes aswell as the building of more public and social sustainable interfaces.

Beside that The Constitute is actively working in the fields of teaching rapid prototyping and design fiction as creative practice.

Sebastian Piatza *1985 holds a MA in product design and has been awarded several times for his works on neurological, social and optical phenomena. At The Constitute he is responsible for prototyping, concept developing, internal communication and all financial business relations.

Christian Zöllner *1981 is coming from a product design background and is constantly moving towards interaction design, design research and design teaching. He worked in design studios in Paris and Vienna. He teached at the Rietveld Academy Amsterdam, Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel, University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein and at the University of the Arts in Berlin where he hosted projects on experimental product development for more than six years. Since 2012 he is running The Constitute together with Sebastian Piatza. His main activities are design research, external communication and concept development
