Felix Deufel

Felix Deufel, born in the south of Germany in 1989 is a sound artist who dealt mainly with filmscore, sounddesign, 3D audio productions and more and more installation art during his studies of Digital Media Sound at the University of Applied Science Darmstadt. He is one of the founders of Ciao Kakao, an artist collective which creates audiovisual installations, mainly for clubs and soundperfomances and keeping international collaborations.
In 2013/14 Felix was working for the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology in the Professional Audio department and took part in the evaluation and fine tuning of Spatial Sound Control – a 3D soundsystem based on wavefieldsynthesis and Vbap. He has found his destination in the 3D audio world and is now freelancing for Shure, installing Atmosphea 3D Soundsystems and creating 3D audio content.
During his residency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia he developed and exhibited audiovisual installations, sound performances and led a workshop for DIY 3D Sound, using open source renderings and simple speaker setups.
