I will be using field and studio recordings made during a month long trip to Uganda to present a sound-collage of textural micro-sounds, sampled instrumentation and electronic synth tones with the intention of distilling my own ambient soundscape from a snapshot of the sonic experience of spending time in Uganda. I’m interested in the idea of in a sense ‘collaborating’ with these momentary recordings by adding my own layers of sound and processing to their captured nature back at home in Berlin. In this sense I reconstruct a sonic image of my experience and interact with the memory and experience of being in Uganda and making the recording as much as with the recording itself.
